Main Active Substances:

1. AHA (Alpha hydroxy acids)
These are chemical compounds characterized by having a hydroxyl group in position two (also known as alpha position) of the carboxyl group.
Most AHAs are found in nature, such as:
Glycolic acid….Sugar cane
Malic acid…….Apple
Citric Acid……..Lemon
Tartaric Acid….Grapes
Lactic acid……..Tomato
The hydroxyl group, at that position, means that the molecule is small and behaves as a corneocyte disintegrative element (stratum corneum). AHAs have multiple applications in keratinisation disorders (scars, etc.) and dysfunctions of the skin that are the consequence of diseases or degenerative changes caused by skin ageing (wrinkles, flaccidity, hyperchromia, etc.).
They are the greatest skin refiners.

2. BHA (Beta-hydroxy acids)
These are chemical compounds characterized by having a hydroxyl group in position one (also known as beta position) of the carboxyl group. This position means that the molecule is slightly bigger and slower in the reaction. They are, therefore, ideal for more sensitive skins, although they have a longer term effect.
The most frequently used beta-hydroxy acid is found the bark of the white willow.
Its use goes back to the time of Hippocrates as they used to chew the bark of this tree to treat the pain of arthritis and bursitis because of its great pain-killing properties. It is from this tree that salicin is obtained, a precursor of acetyl salicylic acid.

3. CASTOR OIL
It is a great skin restorative element.
Its main properties are: healing, soothing, anti-inflammatory and emollient. It therefore improves skin tolerance to acids and prevents the itching and stinging sensation typical of acids.

4. SIMMONDSIA CHINESIS
Native plant of the Mexican desert. It is the only plant able to produce liquid wax.
It has been used in cosmetics since ancient times. Aztecs already used it in hair and skin care as its chemical composition is similar to that of our skin. It consists of 95 % of ceramides. These are substances that cover epidermal cells, regulate hydration and act as a very stable base, notably in the case of acids.
It also contains vitamin E, A, B1, C, calcium, sodium and linoleic acid (omega 3) as a regenerator.

5. VRGRTAL GLYCERINE
It usually comes from palm or coconut.
It has important moisturizing and soothing properties. It is also an active substance that helps to retain water in the skin longer and helps oxygen reach the skin. This is also beneficial for countering aging and the aggressive effects of acids.

6. VITAMIN E (Tocopherol)
This is another great antioxidant. It prevents oxidation and promotes collagen regeneration. It also improves blood circulation and reduces redness.

7. SALIX ALBA BARK EXTRACT (White willow bark)
It is a source of beta-hydroxy acids that deeply peels skin cells. White willow bark has also salicin, that acts as a painkiller and as an anti-inflammatory thus preventing its powerful peeling action from resulting in alarming redness or inflammation.

8. ALOE BARBADENIS
The well-known aloe, rich in polyphenols, supports all the other skin regenerative processes and it also soothes and smooths the skin and rebalances its pH.

9. RETINYL PALMITATE
This is a combination of retinol (pure vitamin A) and palmitic acid.
Latest research shows that it is an effective antioxidant and a regenerator of skin cells as it regulates its metabolism.

10. HYALURONIC ACID
This is the most universal NMF (natural moist factor). It has the ability to attract water and hold it in the skin for longer. Hyaluronic acid has become indispensable in recent years for anti-aging and extremely hydrating cosmetics.

11. VITAMIN C
The main role of this active substance is to prevent the formation of free radicals (skin oxidation).
It also has a de-pigmenting effect as it inhibits the tyrosinase enzyme and breaks down melanin.
It promotes collagen production.
Additionally, the latest studies by Dr. Jeannete Graff show that topical vitamin C increases the levels of inhibitors of gen MMP-1 which degrades collagen.

12. MALTODEXTRIN
Natural sugar extracted from corn, which gives the product a more creamy texture. This way, it will be more hydrating and easy to apply.

13. SOYA LICITHIN
Soya lecithin is part of the cell wall and contributes to cell regeneration and tissue renewal.
It reinforces the cohesion between skin cells, making skin more flexible.
It is rich in phosphorous, vitamins K and A. it contributes to maintaining skin elastic, hydrated and couperose-free.
It is considered a vegetal phytohormone that contributes to the regulation of sebaceous glands.

14. BETA-CAROTENES
They are a type of flavonoids, the most active ones of the provitamin A.
They provide protection against sun radiation by promoting and homogenizing melanin production, which contributes to an intense and uniform tanning. They also improve the skin’s immune system.
